I am always so amazed by the beauty of a gorgeous summer day.
There is so much to appreciate. Blue skies. Sunshine. A breeze that whispers through the trees and keeps you nice and cool.
I love summer. I love sunshine and running in the sweaty humidity of Virginia weather.
I have been studying like crazy for my NASM exam. Going chapter by chapter through the study guide and using the NASM practice app and iMuscle to work on my anatomy.
Anatomy is my weak spot.
But I want to take my test within the next two weeks. I don’t want to lose any of the momentum I gained while in class.
I have been working out pretty consistently though which has been amazing. I have a workout buddy, who keeps me on track, always wants to meet, and is up for anything.
We did this workout yesterday:
and this is my plan today:
I didn’t put the weight on because Jenny and I use different weights. Although- I have been consistently upping my weights so that I can get stronger.
I am trying to write it in the NASM format so I get used to putting my workouts that way. The nice thing about the NASM book is it gives you a lot of exercises to try and the iMuscle app is also amazing for exercises that work each muscle group.
I don’t like to be bored or do too many of the same things consistently. Last week we took the Ultimate Fitness Class four times because we didn’t feel like writing workouts. Each class involved cardio, core and weights and was roughly 45- 60 minutes long.
I wanted to tell you all some exciting news.
1) I have accepted a Full Time Job with ICF International in Fairfax, VA. I have been lucky enough to find a great place to live and I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life, if a bit nervous.
2) I am in the process of launching the EverydayStrength fitness community with my teammates and friends from my independent study project. We are more than excited about putting together this amazing community and we can’t wait to help other women be as excited about fitness as we are.
Keep your eyes peeled.
P.S. It’s National Running Day- so get your ass outside and run 🙂
